Randy Slabaugh is an accomplished business professional with a 30-year history of optimizing production, operations, and business development strategies. He has worked with companies of all sizes and is highly respected for his expertise in process improvement, production, and strategic sales planning. He has a proven track record of success in driving projects to completion and achieving long-term organizational goals.

The road of Randy's life has taken him down many paths of opportunity. For him, playing the Golf game competitively has become a staple of life. In 1984, Randy was selected for the 2nd AAG (All-American Golfer) team, playing in ALL-Conferences for 3 out of 4 years. He won the state tournament at Cacapon State Park Golf Course in 1984 as a single representative for the W.V.I.A.C. at the National Tournament in Saginaw, Mi. Saginaw Valley Golf Course. Played with the likes of Joe Durant, Andrew Magee, Brad Faxon, Billy Andrade, Willie Wood, Tracy Phillips and on. However, his golfing days were inspired by the “legendary” former Cleveland Browns tight end and “1975 Hall of Fame inductee” and member. Dante (Gluefingers #86) Lavelli who owned 58% percent stock in Medina Country Club in Medina, Ohio. Randy was affectionately known as “Lavelli's second son“ as he caddied at the Club starting out and was mentored personally for 36 years of Randy’s life. It was his teachings and wisdom that helped Randy acquire lifelong skills that led him to success in every aspect of his life.

Years later, Randy started his career and journey at “The Boston Globe” in Massachusetts. From his early days learning circulation production, he went on to work for The Worcester Telegram and Gazette which was the starting point for his corporate career. In addition, The Morning Journal, and The Parkersburg News & Sentinel. He then took on a role leading district-wide sales initiatives for Columbus Dispatch, a newspaper circulation company. He developed 28 independent distribution contractors, which led him to promotions to higher levels of management within 6 months of employment. He later developed the audience for 2 newspapers, The McAlester News-Capital, and ADA News. In this role, he implemented a first-of-its-kind telemarketing program to promote existing subscribers. As an added value, he increased digital service subscribers by 286% (96 to 360), NIE by 400%, and CPT by .76 year-over-year with only 1 “poor service stop”*.

Randy moved on to manage circulation production at the Omaha World-Herald and Crescent News, respectively during 2018 – 2019. Most recently, as an Operations Manager for McClatchy Publications, he managed five properties with five distribution companies (Bellingham Herald, Tacoma News Tribune, The Olympian, Tri-Cities Herald, and Boise Statesman). With Randy on board, daily volume jumped to 62K daily from 61,491K, and Sunday volume rose to 102K daily from 101,278, which 86% was delivered by ICs of total areas, 56% of which were digital. He helped McClatchy Publications reach its goal of increasing or stabilizing volume and improving efficiency coupled with service.

Randy is ready to take on his next mission in business by building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and employing multipronged strategies to increase revenue, enhance profits, and expand partnerships. Randy also has an invention that is already licensed and patten but has not hit the market yet.

Randy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing with a minor in management from West Liberty State College. He also studied marketing at Glenville State College.
