Objective

Searching for opportunities to interact and impact people in a way that makes a positive difference in their lives. In need of a new perspective after spending years in the intensive care environment as a nurse.

Summary of qualifications

After spending almost eight years in the US Army, as a paratrooper and a supervisor, I continued my education and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. While I was attending college, I worked as a Nurse extern gaining experience in the basic care of patients. Since obtaining my nursing degree I have worked in a vast variety of settings both rural and urban. I spent my first year as a nurse on a med/surge floor and telemetry unit. After that I started working in the ICU environment. I have worked in the general ICU, the MICU, the CCU, the CVICU, the Neuro ICU, and some infrequent ER assignments. I have worked in some high level high acuity urban hospitals, as well as some rural ICUs. I spent much of my nursing career as a travel and agency nurse which has taught me about flexibility and increased my critical thinking skills. During my work experience I have been involved with the development and research related to patient care protocols and procedures. I have been a Charge nurse in a high acuity environment for many years. I have been a resource person, for my colleagues, pertaining to scientific intellectual and technical skills, often mentoring and supporting new,as well as, experienced employees. I am highly people oriented, customer service oriented, have great communication and critical thinking skills: I am a quick learner and adaptable to changes.
