Substation Area Operator:
Duties: Substation Area Operators are required to show and demonstrated ability using OJE process, work safe, and promote maintaining a safe work environment.
I was currently responsible for maintaining ComEd distribution and transmission networks. Job duties included creating zones of protection for crews to perform work, maintenance inspections, writing work request for equipment in need of repairs or replacement, locating primary and secondary cable faults, set-up of generator deployments ranging from 500Kw to 2.5 MW, resolve ICC complaints, test transformers, support C&M overhead & underground departments, program MCR’s, cap banks, regulators, ALRS’s, assist the DA group in SCADA related issues. NERC and FERC qualified.

My job required the installation of all electrical underground primary and secondary services, including cable TV and phone lines. I am proficient in reading maps, and the application of building according to the blueprints. Responsible for the training of class “C” Technicians. Over 7yrs experience in new residential construction, mainline and 3- phase installation.
Equipment used: Trained and well skilled in the use of the following machines 8550 Vermeer, 950 Vermeer, HD 125 Ditch-witch.
