ACTIVITIES

Joined an organization by the name of Neighborhood Youth Board in 1991. Member until 1998. It was a community organized program for every neighborhood. From what is now Russell, Southwick/Cotter Homes, Shephard Square, Clarksdale, Germantown, Parkland, Parkhill, Newburg among others. It was young adolescents 12 and up to be able to interact with other children from around the city. In order to form a bond between the streets to stop urban violence. We promoted and gave dances, senior balls, food drives, built gardens, helped daycares, etc. It was funded by the state via Mayor Jerry Abrahamson. Spear headed by Lynn Rippy and the late Robert Tinker.
