I started as a medical assistant for the ENT department. I would set up for Nasal endoscopies, (Flex & ridged) I would prep the patient nasal passage to make the patient comfortable while procedure being done. I would assist in doing Pro Wax (use of a vacuum to irrigate patient’s ears), numb the area need for provider to work on. I would also assist with emails, phone calls, sending medication, and scheduling appointments. When the opportunity was given, I moved to the allergy department where I would to environmental allergy skin test and administered weekly allergy injections to patients. I would follow up weekly with patient to check how they were doing and confirm & schedule their appointments. I helped with mixing injections vials for patients, and mixing concentrates for testing. I would print out labels for the vials. I followed up with the patients that had any concerns or questions regarding the injections or test.
