Instrumental in establishing the first successful organizational level network centric waveform (NCW) satellite authorization access request. The implementation of the NCW network provided secure and near immediate, on the move, network for over 270 terminals.

Satellite Communications Team Leader January 2014 – December 2016

Team leader for 7 personnel at the Okinawa Standardized Tactical Entry Point (STEP) facility overseeing 17 satellite ground station antennas encompassing an assortment of RF spectrum bands, a tactical communications office section which monitored over 16 remote sites, and assorted RF maintenance equipment at the main and remote facilities.

Selected by leadership to be in the first group of 12 out of 90 IT personnel to train for and take CompTIA Security+ certification and was 1 of the 6 that passed.

Restored long haul transmissions to a naval fleet that was suddenly left without reach back capability by coordinating between 2 other agencies and providing direction to the team restoring communications for over 15,000 sailors.

Satellite Communications Operator and Maintainer August 2006 – December 2015

Operated Unit Hub Satcom Trucks system supporting 90 remote sites across vast regions of Iraq and Afghanistan with 99.99% reliability in austere environments providing critical wartime communications capability to the warfighter.

Selected to be organization’s ammunition handler accounting for, inspecting, and distribution for over 10,000 rounds of miscellaneous types of ammo including crowd suppression gas pills. No losses occurred over 15 unit events and turn in time was reduced 30 minutes due to better book keeping.

Trained to be unit’s facility maintenance tech that fixed minor structural deficiencies such as holes in the wall saving $2,500 in repairs. Responsibilities also included submitting trouble tickets for moderate problems such as plumbing issues and coordinating with local fire department to refill fire extinguishers.
