ACTIVITIES

- Avid translator, and contributed many improved translations on Google Translate.

- Elected as Chinese Landscape Architecture journal editor since 2018.

- Huge English-Chinese translation work in process. “A History of Garden Art” by Marie Luise Gothein. Her seminal work is broadly considered as the major source for all subsequent garden art history researches.

- Expertise in English-Chinese translation. Translated “A Quest for Life”, Ian McHarg’s autobiography, which was published by China Architecture Press in 2016.

- Chinese to English translation expertise. Translated “Yuan Ye Illustrated”, about the top Chinese garden art book published in the Ming dynasty in 1621, and my translated book, in three volumes, was published by China Architecture Press in 2013 and has been available at amazon.com.cn.

- Expertise in Chinese teaching to English speakers. Principal of Riverside Hua Xia Chinese School (www.riversidechinese.org), 2011-2013. Worked at the school for almost ten years.

- Great communication skills. Co-founded ESRI Toastmaster's Club in 2005. Won District 12/Division 6/Area 1 & 2 International Speech Contest, April, 2006; Acted as its first VP of Education; Active in various Toastmasters' events since 2000. Elected as the club President in 2008 (July-December).

- Excellent physical condition. Completed first Marathon in 4 hours 40 minutes at the 20th LA Marathon on March 6, 2005.

- Extraordinary organization skills. Elected as the Vice Dean of the newly founded School of Landscape Architecture in Beijing Forestry University in January 1993; the youngest in school history.
