INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Keri Wolfe. I am 21 years old and am working to become an ER nurse. I have spent a year working as an EMT and now strive to work as a phlebotomist. Phlebotomy interests me for many reasons, one being the advancement of my career. I’m excited to work in a hospital setting to familiarize myself with the environment.
EXPERIENCE
Viewpoint Ambulance — March 2023 - Currently Employed I am currently employed as an EMT at Viewpoint Ambulance in Anaheim, California. I work Critical Care transports with a registered nurse or respiratory therapist. In my time working for viewpoint I gained experience in BLS and ALS transports, critical care transports, one legacy transports, and pediatric transports. I can take a full set of vitals on any patient, including setting up leads on a cardiac monitor. I have experienced and am equipped to deal with seizures, fainting patients, and even anaphylaxis. Additionally, I have full knowledge of patient transfers if the patient were to be non- ambulatory. Sandy’s Beach Shack — February 2023- Currently Employed I am currently employed at Sandy’s Beach Shack in Huntington Beach, California. With no previous restaurant experience, I was hired as a host. By May, I quickly moved up to work the food line. My time at Sandy’s has taught me additional problem solving and communication skills. As the restaurant is under the Huntington Beach Pier, various types of people are drawn to eat at Sandy’s. I have had to deescalate situations and read different customers, trying to accommodate best for them. ADHSL Hockey Medic — September-October 2023
This year, I spent 8 weekends working for the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League as an EMT. In my time spent at the Hockey games I got to practice my BLS skills such as splinting, cleaning and covering lacerations and abrasions, assessing head injuries, and giving ice for other soft tissue injuries.
