Recent Work History:

Asst. Maint. Super., Hanover Company (@ Hanover Crossing Residences) May 23 – Oct 23

I completed all the maintenance for a new 320 Unit complex, including an elite outdoor pool and courtyard. I transformed the maintenance department from a total mess into a well organized shop. My hard work reduced the daily work order load from 30+ to a manageable 12, allowing the Manager to work off-site on a regular basis, and thus acting as Manager in his absence. When special vendors came on-site they preferentially asked for me.

Facilities Supervisor, The Mosquito Squad of Cape Cod May 22 – May23

Standardized and improved the upfit of 16 Transit vans with pesticide equipment and the site operating procedures. Installed new very Hi-Tech Auto-Misting Systems with remote monitoring.

Maintenance Manager, The Community Builders @ Province Landing Apr 20 – May 22

Working alone, I did all the turnovers and boiler repair. Repaired the appliances, plumbing, floors, electrical and all the landscaping. Vendors used only for extreme specialties and emergencies. Excellent rapport with residents, including a violent mental case during the process of his eviction.

Property Maintenance, Self-Employed Mar 10 – Mar 20

I designed and built unique gardens, stairs and walls using timbers and/or masonry. I successfully transplanted trees and shrubs! I did all regular property maintenance. I developed a specialty process using sieves to clean and rebuild gravel walkways and Zen gardens of organic debris.

Roofers Assistant, to Roger Roderick (Part-time and then full time) May 13 – Nov 16 Replace and repair roofs, trim, doors, floors and windows. My hard work ethic and professional painting experience led to many successful projects and improved profits.

Senior Maintenance, Brewster Green Resort, Brewster, MA Aug 06 – Mar 10

Maintain, remodel, and repair 57 timeshares, clubhouse, pools, spas and gardens. I rebuilt all of their perenial gardens. I painted all of their external gas conduits and repaired all of their patio screen doors. I repaired many appliances and rebuilt shower valves. I reprogrammed the security locks.

Property Maintenance, Royal Assisted Living, Harwich, MA (Part-time) Dec 07 – Aug 08

I successfully repaired their rubber roof that others had tried to repair. Carpet cleaning, touch-up painting and all internal routine maintenance of electrical, plumbing, appliance, and carpentry.

Engineering Work Experience:

Consulting Chemist, Toner Research Services, Harwich, MA

Formulate new inks for a proprietary prototype printer. Simultaneous, duplicate research and successful project transfer to Hewlett-Packard Printing.

Engineer, Nuvera Fuel Cells, Cambridge MA

Developed a PROX catalyst system which was successfully used in all of their hydrogen producing, fuel-reforming systems. Analyzed and developed water gas shift catalyst systems for use in the same reforming systems. As the laboratory safety representative to the Safety Committee, I analyzed new fuel systems for their safe operation.

Consulting Mechanical Engineer, Smith + Nephew Endoscopy, North Andover, MA

As the Technical Director’s assistant, I brought to market many new disposable blades. I acted as the Project Facilitator for the One-Piece Tube Project which completely changed their manufacturing process for their entire line of products. I initiated all the ECO’s, maintained the Design History Files and Validation Files, resulting in the new products. I set up their MET lab and tested the new products at all stages of the process. I acted as liaison for outside vendors, which resulted in the Nuvera Fuel Cells position described above, as they were a spin-off from Arthur D. Little Consulting, which was the overseeing vendor for the One-Piece Tube Project.

Chemist, King Industries, Norwalk, CT

As assistant to the Director of Research, I synthesized novel polyester-urethane pre-polymers and water-borne dispersions for use in numerous industrial coatings applications. I developed all of the formulations used to promote the products and performed all of the in-house product testing. Also, successful pilot plant scale-up and SOP creation for the manufacturing processes. I created new MSDS’s for their new products. I trained manufacturing technicians in the safe handling of chemicals.

Chemist, Polycast Technology Corporation, Stamford, CT

I developed the Porcelite and SUVT-3 cast acrylic product lines, including production scale-up and on-site technical customer service. I supervised the laboratory QC for both incoming materials and outgoing products. All technical customer service including numerous site trips for demonstrating how to use new and existing products, leading to successful sales.

Laboratory Technician, GTE Laboratories, Waltham, MA

I disproved the theory of reactive chemical intermediates as the cause for the spontaneous explosions of lithium batteries by developing innovative in-situ electroanalytical and spectrophotometric techniques. This affirms the (now) well-known principle of internal mechanical shorting failure due to Li dendrite formation. I took in situ pictures of dendrite formation forty years before this recently made major news again in the rechargeable lithium ion battery industry.
