Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Operating Room Observation (April 2009 – December 2009)

This clinical experience involves observation of operating room procedures by Drs. Robert Sanford, Frederick Boop, Michael Muhlbauer, and medical residents in the operating room for various surgical procedures. Procedures include: Awake Craniotomy, Vagus Nerve Stimulation, Seizure Grid Placement, Numerous Tumor Resection, Hemispherectomy, Encephaloduroarteriosynangiosis (EDAS), Lumbar Puncture Starlight, and Baclofen Pump Insertion.

Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Clinical Trial Assist (April 2009 – December 2009)

Involved assisting with clinical trials in the neuroscience department of Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Hospital. This includes research regarding Children and Helmet Safety, Breastfeeding’s Link to Shunt Infections, and Spina Bifida topics. Miscellaneous volunteer work completed for Drs. Marion School District Substitute Teacher (October 2007 – January 2010)

Employees were responsible for junior high and high school students when the teacher was absent. All instructions for homework were given and assignments were collected, as well as disciplinary actions taken when needed.

Fishdog Racing Assistant Trainer/Kennel Helper (January 2004 –December 2008)

Employees were responsible for the care of racing greyhounds. Duties included diagnosing and treating injuries, feeding proper meals, and keeping the greyhounds’ living area clean. This position also included substituting for the trainer when needed and managing paperwork on each dog.

Greymeadow Kennel Trainer, Assistant Trainer, Kennel Helper (January 2000 – July 2003)

Work in this kennel consisted of duties ranging from maintaining weight on a dog to repair of major injuries and rehabilitation of such injuries. Training all ages of greyhounds was also a challenge with the variety between 15 months and 7 years. This position is the premium caretaker of the racers. Managing paperwork was a main duty as well as employee management. Psychological applications were also necessary.
