Assisted and advised Sector Commander and his staff to liaise between various Non-Governmental Organizations and African Union. Provided weekly situation reports to African Support Group in Washington D.C. and members of U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan. Worked under administrative control of the U.S. Dept of State's Africa Bureau and under operational control of the African Mission in Sudan (AMIS). Observed, monitored, reported, and negotiated in context of post-conflict peace process. Conducted vehicle-mounted patrols to monitor cease fire agreement and facilitated formal and informal meetings with local government representatives, rebel representatives, and private Sudanese citizens.
