Set up, operate, and maintain equipment to conduct examinations and procedures according to established protocols for a wide variety of complicated job tasks requiring coordinating numerous processes and methods.

Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic Sonography examinations.

Uses cognitive Sonography skills to identify and record anatomical pathological and diagnostic images.

Uses independent judgment during ultrasound exams to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.

Analyzes ultrasound images, synthesizes information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate radiologist.

Obtains proper patient history before examining to ensure the appropriateness of examinations and facilitate timely, accurate diagnosis of the patient.

Assume responsibility for the safety and mental and physical comfort of patients during scheduled examinations or procedures.

Report and record patient and procedural data.

Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by providing information and an explanation of the test to be performed.

Disinfect equipment and ultrasound probes according to safety standards and always adhere to safety standard precautions.

Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure continued availability for examinations and procedures.

Transport patients to/from the treatment area to the Imaging department

Assist patients, who are unable to dress/undress, with the treatment gown.

Maintain patient confidentiality.

Notify the Imaging Manager or technical support on equipment issues.

Document and report any issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
