Auditing of Rio Zim metallurgical balances since 2014 both half yearly and yearly, and test work for small scale miners mostly on gold recovery from mill tailings.

6) Empress Nickel Refinery

Smelting of Nickel and copper residues using Ausmelt Technology
This Australian method was developed to smelt in one stage the Refinery nickel and copper residues.
A visit to Australia in 1997 involved presentation of a paper on Ausmelt technology.
Visits were also conducted on aluminium smelting and refining plants and Zinc plants
7) Empress Nickel Refinery
Senior Metallurgist
April 1992 to June 1995
Projects Testwork from bench scale to process design, construction and implementation.
Test work was successfully completed to economically leach gold from Renco copper concentrates. A pilot plant was installed and ran for 8 months to produce 54kg gold.
Then designed, constructed and commissioned the plant to produce 15kg gold per month.
Test work to leach smelter matte and expand the Refinery capacity by 50%.
8) Dorowa Minerals

In charge of mining operations with the Open Pit Superintendent and plant Superintendent reporting to me.
Did test work to re grind flotation tails, then implemented the process to increase Production from 12000t per month phosphate concentrate to 16000t per month.

Trouble shooting to minimize impurities like copper, Iron and cobalt in Nickel cathodes.
Leach test work which improved quality of cobalt cake from 40% to 49% by lowering pH conditions on treating primary cake.

Test work to reduce cobalt loses in slag from 1% to 0.66%.

Monthly metallurgical accounting and trouble shooting.
2 years learnership qualify as graduate metallurgist.
Blend control of Concentrates from Madziwa, Shangani, Trojan and Epoch to produce desired furnace feed. Also the amounts of silica required to form a proper fayalite slag as per phase diagrams.
