I would like to highlight that my primary qualification for this opportunity may not be reflected in the list of job experiences or field of education that I have accumulated. Instead, it stems from my personal experiences and the journey they have taken me on. This journey has led me to the realization that the field of intervention and crisis support is where I truly belong. It has instilled in me the confidence to pursue this career path and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

I have been through the system, including rehab for Alcohol abuse to the psychiatric ward for suicide prevention along with taking doctor-prescribed anti-depressants. Experiencing hardships, navigating the system of care, and emerging healed revealed a gift within me.

This gift not only derives from the experience of knowing what it is like to be in a crisis but also the ability to articulate... properly, the understanding of emotions and feelings of these moments, through words.

So far, my ability to communicate my own experience has led to me being asked to speak at a mental health awareness fundraiser and a candlelight vigil for suicide awareness. I was invited to speak at a Kaiser Permanente team meeting and share my experiences. All these opportunities to share my story resulted in an overwhelmingly positive reaction. The impact and help I was able to provide was undeniable. The main narrative of all the feedback was a constant push to find more avenues and ways to help others through the distinct sharing of words and articulation of emotions by someone who has experienced it themselves.

I have experienced personal growth that has positively impacted the teenagers I work with as a Campus Safety Officer at Rosamond High School. I noticed that many students were struggling and decided to take action by creating a sports program during school breaks. I monitor and interact with the students to provide guidance and support. The program has been met with overwhelming praise from the school staff who have noticed a significant improvement in the students' attitudes."

My motivation is simply the opportunity to continue to water this seed I have been given through my own hardships so that it may blossom and spread as far as possible to help others, and possibly save a life.
