Performs job tasks in a way that ensures proper sterilization

Assembles and wraps Instrument sets

Meets with Surgeons to discuss concerns and needs on Instrumentation.

Contacts vendors to Assure Implants are refilled for any case needed such as (plates, screws, ETC)

Works Closely with Materials Management to assure are all Orders are being properly ordered and received in a timely fashion.

Ensures proper use of sterilized sonic cleaners and other related equipment

Retrieves and delivers surgical instruments on a timely basis

Thoroughly inspects instruments to insure all instruments are clean and in good repair/working order prior to sterilization process

Decontaminates instruments using proper chemical mixtures and procedure

Test, operates and loads autoclaves

Participates in the routine cleaning and decontamination of all department work surfaces

Completes sterilization log sheets

Periodically checks sterile inventory in order to remove those items in which sterilization has expired or packaging has been compromised\Re-sterilizes compromised instruments sets. Identifies appropriate personnel of inventory or supply storages.

Communicates effectively with CS/OR Coordinators, staff and other customers, including use of proper telephone etiquette

Organizational and numerical ability to receive, count and store materials

Inform bio-med of equipment no longer service able or other problems that arise

Ensure that all instruments cards ae kept up to date and accurate
