Database Specialist, Employee Group Insurance Division OMES Sep 2015 – Present

The division administers, manages and provides group health, dental, life and disability insurance for current and former employees of state agencies, school districts and other governmental units of the State of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Insurance and Benefits Board has oversight responsibility and decision-making authority to adopt policies regarding the division’s financial matters.

Wrote Technical specifications from BRD for developers to build the application.

Vitech Systems Group is one of the world's leading providers of administrative software to pension, investment, insurance and health plan administrators. V3, a Java application using Oracle Database is widely used by various state governments and multi employer pension fund administrators such as VCERA, SBRB, MTRS, NYTU and others.

Responsibilities:

Worked as a conversion team specialist for one of the Vitech’s bigger client.

Worked directly with client to analyze legacy data, gather requirements, and develop mapping documents for functional specifications.

Wrote Technical specifications for junior developers to load this data into V3.

Responsible of receiving this legacy data to be loaded into V3, Vitech’s propriety application. This data included demographics, enrollment, pension, disbursement, SCP and other modules.

Worked extensively with SQL*loader, pl/sql procedures and packages along with batch processing.

Completed SDLC for conversion cycle every month and generated scorecards and reports about each legacy field’s acceptance or rejection into V3 system.

Scheduled meetings with client to resolve issues and enhance programs for next month cycle.

Maintenance and Repair Overhaul (MRO) Project.

This Government project was to design, develop, construct, install, implement, and deliver dramatically improved maintenance, repair, and overhaul process and facilities support functions for the F100 Engine Business Unit within the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base. The Decision Support System (DSS) support the Business Intelligence requirements of the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Transformation of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. The DSS solution provides performance management information to the workforce and Business Unit Management to support shop floor operations and measures the performance of the MRO transformation itself.

Responsibilities:

A Key member of the Data Architecture and DBA team on the transformation project.

Gathered functional requirements from users based on the knowledge of Air Force legacy systems.

Designed and developed the Data Model and Mapping of the Lean Transformation Data Warehouse project using Oracle 10g.

Designed database structures in Operational Data Source (ODS) and Data Marts (DM) for data warehouse integrations.

Worked on Oracle ERP module to create multiple Data Mart for various applications within Air Logistics Center.

Developed complex PL/SQL integrations to extract and transform the data into information useful for the Cognos Reports development.

Designed, developed and tested these Oracle database integrations for the ETL process involved in the Transformation project, a complete life cycle.

Used Cognos Framework Manager and Report Studio to create Cognos reports and measurement of performance (MOP) for users.

USAF pathfinder project, Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) that provided an integrated, near real-time, responsive approach of planning and assessment of feasible execution plans through an enterprise-wide view of all Air Force (AF) logistical organizations with which it was connected.

Responsibilities:

Worked on Advanced Planning and Scheduling pathfinder project for USAF at OC-ALC. The project included the creation and implementation of Oracle integrations and UNIX scripts to pull various legacy data into one Operational Data Source.

As Technical Lead for Demand Planning, he worked with Manugistics Demand Planning and Collaboration Applications on this project.

Worked as Application Administrator for Manugistics Demand Planning and Collaboration applications.

Worked and supported Oracle ERP module to be the sole Data Mart for other various data streams to support OC-ALC.

Was responsible for running and maintaining the monthly batch cycle, which was the heart of the APS project.

Used import and export Oracle utilities for importing and exporting legacy data into Pathfinder databases.
