I am a California contractor with my C20 and C38 license number 772256 for heating, venting, air conditioning and commercial refrigeration. I started my company as Erick Schmittou Repair Service in April 1999 as an appliance repair technician, California license number C61515. I received my contractor’s license in December 1999. In 2001 I started hiring employees, in 2007 I had seven employees. 1 Office, 3 Technicians, 1 Installer and 2 General labor. In 2007 I changed the name to Fresno’s Top Gun so I could sell and retire early, due to the recession I was unable to sell. In 2010 I let the last employee go and worked alone since, in 2024 I changed the name back to Erick Schmittou Repair Service since I am no longer in Fresno California. I want to work to supplement my retirement income, not to rebuild a company.

1972 Trained as an appliance installer by Scott Brock at Vern’s Service Incorporated, in Long Beach, California. 1975 Graduated from Orange High School, in Orange, California. 1978 Frigidaire trade school in Burbank, California. Learned residential refrigeration. 1980 to 1984 Sears trade school. Trained in laundry equipment, cooking equipment, heating air conditioning, venting, garage door opener, garage door hardware, repair, and installation. 1984 Commercial refrigeration training and small appliance repair. Trained by Owner of Household Appliance Repair Alex Miller in Crestline, California.

1988 Learned glazing by the Owner of Crestline Glass, Ed Ham, in Crestline, California. 2000 to present, numerous seminars on heating, venting, air conditioning, Water filtration, and commercial refrigeration for multiple manufacturers and equipment. Ice-O-Matic, Manitowoc, Koolair, Kooler Ice, Hoshizaki, True, Scotsman, Day and Night, Goodman, Carrier, just to name a few.
