I perform tasks such as processing and releasing medical record requests from any requester requesting medical records for example lawyers, doctors, APS companies ETC. This has required me to have knowledge in many different types of medical record systems such as; EClinicalWorks, Allscripts, Power Chart, Report Request and more. At all times I must safeguard and protect the patients right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patients medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPPA regulations. I must make sure I am performing quality checks on all work to assure accuracy of the release, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
