Skills and Abilities:

Utilize proper procedures in the application, safe use, and proper maintenance of power tools associated with the construction trades, including specialized tools associated with cement masonry, such as the troweling machine, vibrating screed, concrete saw, power grinders, compactors and jackhammers.

Ability to use proper hand tools to achieve uniformity of subgrade, set reinforcements and forms, grade concrete behind a straight edge, and achieve the proper finish to concrete.

Knowledge of commonly used measurement devices, such as the tape measure, levels and transit level.

Skill in repairing damaged concrete surfaces, by matching and patching like surfaces using formula proportions for concrete, agents, or concrete additives.

Knowledge of industry standard safety precautions, when performing all tasks, including the proper wearing and maintenance of OSHA mandated Personal Protective Equipment.

The ability to read and understand industry standard blueprints at the apprentice level.

Skill at using the proper tools and techniques when bullfloating, darbying, and striking off unfinished concrete.

Ability to erect step forms, sidewalk and wall bracing, set curb forms, and follow proper procedures when stripping a form or brace.

Work Experience: Work Based Learning Internship: March 2014–Present, Cemetery Restoration, Repaved Center Driveway, and Built barbeque grills, etc. Wild Land Firefighting Completion Certificate- October 2014.,2015
