My strength in communication and computer skills began to showcase themselves in high school. I graduated in the year of 1995. My transcripts can prove this. Professional, academic and independent writing has been a love of mine for years. However, I truly didn’t begin a career in writing until the year 2000 where I was given a chance to write for the manufacturing company I worked for. It provided my first opportunity to show them how to improve their assembly manuals (PACE, Inc). I worked for little pay to gain a professional portfolio and improve my skills. Assembly manuals, HR handouts and books that helped me gain experience. I had two children to feed and I learned about a software company (Southern Software Inc.) that needed the skills I could provide. I took a sample of my work to them for viewing. Jennifer Meggs, the CEO, agreed to let me work at base pay to evaluate my performance as a writer. Three months later I was hired as a part time employee, then later on as a full time employee with ownership of stock in the company. My absences from writing professionally happened because of my youth and its obstacles. I hope this will give you some insight into who I am as writer.
