LINUX / C++ Consultant at FEDEX, FL

My primary task was to modify production business code to enable real-time pricing and to upgrade other programs related to pricing in order to compete for share of the package delivery market. The technology used was LINUX C++, KSH, STL, Tuxwdo, Perl, Python, PL/SQL, Oracle, and SVN. There was also a small component that involved integration with an IBM mainframe. I was also directly involved in the support integration testing, and making late stage fixes where necessary. This project was a great success and was finished early. Senior Application Systems Engineer at WELLS FARGO, NYC This was a jack of all trades support role to the Wells Fargo trading floor. On any given day there were morning routines to bring up the trading systems but at any given time I could be and was asked to write Bash, Perl, or Autosys scripts. I also spent considerable time ensuring FIX connectivity to various proprietary exchanges such as the one at Goldman Sachs. I was also heavily involved in the deployment of new software releases in terms of configuration, monitoring, and reporting. There was also an aspect of trade break reconciliation, and technical problem research.

In this role I was tasked to help establish the ETF program trading desk by doing the fundamental data collection, organization, analysis, a database design and several subsequent Implementations. In achieving this goal I wrote nearly a dozen stored procedures, triggers, sequences, and functions to compute the relationships among data elements making extensive use of Oracle statistical functions. To publish this data to the traders I created graphical presentations using Excel. The data processing took place through a threaded server I wrote in C++ on LINUX leveraging Appian software for other connectivity. Management later decided that they wanted a java version of this server instead of C++ and using SQL server in place of Oracle, both of which I delivered. JOSEPH A CUSANO
