Using established criteria and guidelines to receive and process prior authorization/appeals requests made by providers and members for medications not inherently covered on a member's prescription drug plan. Answer prior authorization inquiry calls or/and faxes as well as research and resolve formulary and benefit issues using the appropriate reference materials. Reach out to providers to obtain proper documentation to complete prior authorizations/appeals request. Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner. Handles inbound/outbound phone requests and gathers member data to provide information for Pharmacist consultations.

Pharmacy Technician

(June 2014- February 2019)

Retail pharmacy: Processed prescriptions though various insurances/discount cards. Receive and input prescriptions into computer databases. Fast paced environment requiring efficient skills in multitasking will providing excellent customer service. Fill, Prepare, and Dispense medications. Assisting clients at the cash register as well as over the counter medication inquiries. Inpatient pharmacy: Fill and deliver prescriptions for patients admitted into the hospital. Deliver medications to different hospital areas such as the nurse’s station, operating room, and emergency department. Ensuring crash carts are adequately supplied. Managing the inventory in dispensing machines. Preparing medicines, stocking supplies, disposing outdated inventory.
