Technical Specialist

Provides direction, recommendations, alternatives, improvements, expert technical advice and support to maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, diagnoses, and repair of cigarette manufacturing equipment problems. Provides calibrating procedures and troubleshooting techniques to mechanical and electrical technicians. Provides direction to electrical technicians for maintaining and calibrating Final Component Detector and Missing Segment Detector systems. Worked extensively with Programmable Logic Controls.

Electronic Systems Analyst

Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, documentation, commissioning of the SRM, Accuray and Envision weight control systems. Aides QA auditors with cigarette weight problems. Performs brand change specifications using B.O.M. and brand data information. Helps Information Services with HMI production data collection and reporting on cigarette manufacturing equipment. Supports, calibrates and instruct technicians in the PPT Vision Systems. Analyzes and uses Cigarette Rod Weight data to make decisions for S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control). Maintains, and calibrates with a high degree of accuracy Source Detector Units to meet O.S.H.A. requirements.

Electrical Technician (5/86 to 6/99) MTC–Machinery Technology Center–Newport News, VA

Specialized in the rebuilding, refurbing, fabrication, reconstruction, wiring and troubleshooting of complexes, electrical cabinets, control panels, motors, etc. to Original Equipment Manufacture specifications of the Protos/Max 80, HCF 80 cigarette making, and Accuray weight measurement equipment. Constructed and designed various types of test equipment for the tune and testing of these complexes.

While working in a controlled environment for developing special cigarettes, I was responsible for the calibration of all cigarette measurement equipment. Ensured the accuracy, calibration, and weight measurability of a fully operational Accuray Weight Control System.

A.T.E. (Automatic Test Equipment) worked several months in debugging, troubleshooting, and repair of circuit cards using Gen-Rad equipment and software.

GD PACKERS - Assisted in the rebuild and wiring of 4350 complexes, Blank Beds and subassemblies.

MARK-9 COMPLEXES - Assisted in the rebuilding, refurbing, fabrication, reconstruction, wiring and troubleshooting of complexes, electrical cabinets, control panels, motors, etc. to O.E.M. specifications.
