Caring for my father-in-law who contracted COVID-19 was an intense and challenging experience. It required a delicate balance of providing essential medical support while offering emotional and mental encouragement as he is a widower. I took on responsibilities such as monitoring his symptoms, administering medications, and ensuring he followed the prescribed treatment plan as we decided to keep him at home and at the time he was in his early 80’s. The isolation imposed by the virus added an extra layer of complexity, as I had to find creative ways to keep his spirits up and maintain a sense of connection despite physical distancing. Witnessing his struggle with the illness was emotionally taxing, but being there for him during his recovery also deepened our bond and he lives with us upto date. This experience underscored the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the strength that can emerge in the face of adversity.
