Accumulated over 40 years of extensive experience in the oil, gas and energy business, with focus on surface facilities development projects (heavy oil, green fields, mature/brown oilfields revitalization, complex and remote locations), including teams direction, project management and technical consultancy for: oilfield development strategies, new ventures development, project reviews, debottlenecking studies, assets optimization analysis, and finding successful economic solutions to challenging business scenarios.

Experience was developed, while living and/or working in Argentina, Brazil, Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador, Japan, Mexico, Peru, USA, Trinidad, and Venezuela.

Also, have been college professor at the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) in Argentina; delivered several surface facilities and project management training courses to several NOCs and private companies in Latin America; and also published several papers that have been presented in specific technical events of his expertise area.

2023 – 2023: Technical Advisor & Project Management Consultant – Independent, Houston, USA

•Directing engineering technical and FEL activities to define pre-assembled well testing equipment and select processes to develop compact early production facilities.

•Technical evaluation of the facilities development opportunities for the Varosa heavy oil field in Colombia.

•Developed a manual for fast tracking surface facilities projects at small private oil and gas companies.

•Technical advisory for field application of the TWG (Thermal Well Generation) equipment, as alternated technology to conventional steam injection at wells, for the revitalization of the Vinita oilfield in Ecuador.

2020 – 2023: Surface Facilities Manager – 3R Petroleum, Brazil

•Directing company’s project execution teams for the fast development of the required facilities at the onshore brown oilfields acquired from Petrobras, defining development strategies and engineering processes for the new facilities development projects to quickly increase production capacity in the areas (Polos) of Macau (Serra, Salina Cristal, Conceição, Macau, Lagoa de Aroeira, Porto Carão, Sanhaçu), Fazenda Belem, Areia Branca (Redonda, Ponta do Mel, Carcará), Rio Ventura, Candeias, and Potiguar (Canto do Amaro, Alto do Rodriguez, Estreito). Includes: project management and control activities, engineering, major procurement, safety, QA/QC, construction management, start-up, contracting, budget and cost control, regulatory (technical and environmental permits).

•Instructor for project management and projects development for mature oilfields workshops to new 3R Petroleum project teams (technical and administrative).

•Performed engineering technical consultancy activities to select and define processes for the facilities development for the mature oilfields of the Polo Macau, including project management consultancy to develop execution strategy for the new facilities.

•Responsible for several conceptual studies for: offshore (Zama, Hokchi, Amoca, Ayatsil, and Ichalkil-Pokoch) and onshore (Paso de Oro) Mexico with new blocks operators and a confidential data room review; fast track opportunity to transfer Dragon subsea gas field production to Hibiscus platform, Venezuela and Trinidad.

•Technical consultancy for Chevron / Petroboscan PLD-Z9 Expansion Project, Boscan extra heavy oilfield, onshore, Venezuela.

2013 – 2017: Onshore Director – VP Projects Latin America – Wood Group / Wood Group Mustang, Houston, USA

•In charge of creation of JV Mustang Diavaz for oil & gas project development operations in Mexico.

•In charge of project development operations for oil & gas upstream activities performed by Wood Group companies in Latin America.

•Sponsor for Chevron / Petroboscan PLD-Z9 expansion project, Boscan field, Venezuela (Pre-FEED and early FEED under fast track conditions and special demanding premises).

•Technical definition for Diavaz’s Ebano and Miquetla oilfields, Mexico.

•Instructor for the offshore facilities fundamentals and heavy oil training sessions to Ecopetrol, Colombia.

•Instructor for the project management, team building and engineering optimization sessions to company’s Colombian branch.

2012 – 2013: Upstream Projects Director – Foster Wheeler, Houston, USA

•In charge of creation of the upstream facilities development office in Bogota, Colombia.

•Sponsor for Gran Tierra Energy, Block 95 heavy oilfield facilities development project, Peru. Pre-FEED, concept review/validation.

2010 – 2012: Onshore Projects Director – Mustang Engineering / Wood Group Mustang, Houston, USA

•Directed the business case development and conceptual engineering of the heavy oil Pipeline from Venezuela to Colombian Pacific (OPC) for Ecopetrol, Colombia.

•Facilitator for the Ecopetrol’s project management team building session.

•Directed the conceptual and basic engineering, under fast tracking strategy, of Block 7 for Petroamazonas, Ecuador.

•Managed basic engineering of Block 64 Situche Central field development project for Talisman, Peru.

•Performed various duties, including basic and design project engineering, contract and material specifications, construction supervision of several simultaneous multidisciplinary small projects.
