●Provide discharge instructions as directed by the surgeon and ensure the patient and family understands pain management regimen, surgical site restrictions and are ready for discharge.

●Provide preoperative teaching via telephone to patients in the days leading up to their surgery, confirming medications have been stopped as appropriate and the patient has no additional questions or concerns.
