WORK EXPERIENCE: 2023

June 21st - Sept 5th

Amazon Fulfillment Center:

● There are many positions and jobs that you could do in the fulfillment center there, but I mainly was doing what was called the CT Returns.

● We’re basically placed in a station where we are on a computer.

● Next to the stations are a conveyor belt where they have boxes moving along for us to pick up.

● Our job was to grab a box off the conveyor belt, open up the box and see what condition the returned product is in.

● We base the condition of the product off of the computer. We decide if the returned product could be sold again, unsellable, broken, or see if they’re in great condition.

● We tape the box together in good condition (depending on what condition the product was in) and then put it on the correct pallet.

● We then sweep up and wipe down our stations when we are finished. Amazon Delivery Station:

2022

Oct. 30th - Nov. 29th

● The first part of my job when I was working there was called Stowing. This was when we would grab the packages off of a rack where people would put the packages coming from a conveyor belt.

● We would then grab the packages off of the rack and then put them in bags for distribution later. This was done in a timely manner so we could distribute the packages more quickly at the end of the shift.

● The next position Amazon had me working at was the picking stage. This was when we would stand alongside the conveyor belt, grab the packages as they were moving down the conveyor belt, and put the packages on the correct rack and the correct bins. This was done in a timely manner also so the packages wouldn't get backed up.

● At the end of the shift, the next stage we would do is we would grab carts and we would have to pick up the bags the packages were in, zip them up, and then put them on our carts.

● We would take these carts and place them near the driver's section of carts and packages.

● The drivers would then take the whole carts to their delivery car, take the bags and then put the bags in their car for delivery. We would do this in a timely manner also.

Merchandiser Sam’s Club: 2022

Feb. 26th - June 21st

● Organize shelves and pull all of the products forward (called zoning) to make them look good and presentable for members to buy. (Snacks, Soda, toilet paper, dog food, etc.)

● Do a good job of interacting with customers, helping them find products of what they need and directing them to where they want to go.

● At the end of the shift, we would stock the product that is wrapped in shrink wrap, cut the shrink wrap open, and stock the product where it is in the store.

● For this, we use a Pallet Jack and I have also used the forklift a few times for this. I am not a certified forklift driver yet.

● Stocking included carrying and stocking products that are 50 lbs or more. (Water, dog food, Gatorade, chlorine, etc.)

● (I work out every day because I play football so I don’t have a problem with carrying things that are 50 lbs and more.)

● Help customers put heavy objects in their car when they buy it (Water, Gazebo, Sheds, etc.)

Crew Member Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers 2019
