Resume:

Paulette Craig

** ****** *****, ***********, ** G0C-1Y1 506-***-**** ad2fbr@r.postjobfree.com

Greetings,

My name is Paulette Craig and I have been living in the Gesgapegiag Community for the past 4 and half years, and have been in employed with the Indigenous First Nations for the past 7 years. I’m interested in submitting my resume as an applicant. Please allow me to share with you a little bit about myself, my interest in working with the team, and why I believe I would be an asset to the community/organization.

As a Child & Youth Care W/ Addictions Support Worker, with past experience working at Wolastoqiyik Family Services, Floor Attendant at the Walgwan Addiction Treatment Center in Gesgapegiag, and recent employment as the Transitional Student Support Worker that has turned into the Student Enhancement Officer through the Micmac’s of Education Department in Gesgapegiag, I feel I have gained the experience working within the Aboriginal community and currently live in the Gesgapegiag Community to meet the needs of this position. I have participated in on-line courses related to Addiction Counseling Certification through the SIIT & YSAC, NNAPF. I have developed the skills, work ethic, and strong sense of character required to perform my duties at a professional level. My resume will reflect my hard-earned credentials and educational milestones for your review. I am confident that this letter will serve to demonstrate the true passion and commitment that I pour into my work.

As a single mother of two daughters who are now productive adults, and a son who wrestles with concurrent mental health disorders and past substance abuse, who is also a productive adult, I have been affected by addiction and mental health first hand. I know from lived experience the impact and challenges that life can bring to oneself and family. It was my son and his experience along with finding ways of developing my own mental health that has brought me to where I am today. As a lifelong advocate, I am passionate about helping vulnerable youth/adults and their families. I am committed to advancing a sustainable quality of life and developing healthy living strategies within your organization/community. As a child who grew up in the system, I have endured physical, mental, sexual, emotional abuse, that created my childhood trauma. The success I have experienced in overcoming my childhood experiences and embracing my life, has given me a unique perspective. I can relate to children/adults who were victims of abuse, addictions, misunderstood, neglected, or just lost. I understand and can identify the signs related to different forms of abuse, such as addictions, mental health etc…. and as well as the struggles faced amongst families due to these complex situations. This has taught me empathy, compassion, boundaries, approachable, listening skills, non-judgment, and patience along with widening my social perceptiveness skills.

In applying for the position, I appreciate the importance of being an advocate and strong voice for your community/organization. I am applying to affect change for the better and so that I can be a part of a team of like-minded professionals who are dedicated to having a positive impact in the lives of those in need. Those are the kinds of qualities that I can get behind 100% and is fundamentally why I want to work with the vulnerable.

I thank you for your consideration and look forward to meeting with you at your convenience.

I can be reached at 506-***-**** or via mail at ad2fbr@r.postjobfree.com.

Sincerely

Paulette Craig
