• Advised, directed and engaged more than 1500 students in the general population of students at Johnson & Wales University’s Denver campus

• This included a caseload of roughly 150 students each term who were at risk due to disability and/or poor academic performance. Analyzed these students’ academic needs and provided them with their requested accommodations, thus leveling the playing field for these volatile groups of students

• Created a daily workshop series called “Brain Food” and coordinated the tutors to assist with these workshops. This one-of-a-kind program was popular among both students and faculty

• Brain Food topics included study skills, time management, writing enhancement, communication with faculty and staff, conflict resolution and financial literacy. Student retention improved almost 15% after the first year. The faculty embraced the workshops, giving extra credit for attending.

• “Brain Food” is being utilized by more than a dozen other Universities nationwide

• Played a key role in presenting new programs to faculty and staff in monthly in- service meetings

• Took part in admissions, new-student orientation, first-year seminars and campus- wide retention activities
