Test Technician August 2022 – Present

Help and assist in the start & bring up of the PME (Product Manufacturing Engineering) lab in a startup environment. Work in an ESD safe/controlled lab setting.

●Use LabelTac printer and Zebra scanner to scan in new inventory of Athena chips. Scan, print, & label new devices. Labels are made/printed out with a QR barcode and DUT ID (e.g. GP-SVC 123). Upload/enter all new devices into SLAM (Silicon Lab Asset Manager). SLAM is the tool used to track inventory, submit work requests, & maintain lab equipment.

●Work on EWR’s (Engineer Work Request) for engineering staff. EWR’s include requests for testing, shipment of devices both domestically in the U.S. and internationally, assisting engineers with changing devices & temperature settings on the testers, shipping and receiving of lab equipment, etc. Some engineers are local onsite but many are remote, working remotely.

●Execute test programs/flows on Brittany Athena chips for engineers on test benches. Test programs and flows are created by engineers. Load the test program & flow on the tester and run the script on many various different Brittany Athena chips as per the EWR. Testing is done at 25C, 10C, -10C, & 85C based on what the engineer wants.

●Testing is done using the Advantest V93000 handler, Chroma SeaCobra, Microsoft Surface tablet, load boards, Leeno sockets, & SmarTest (program).

Executed testing in both automation and manual mode.

●Performed EMC testing on routers inside an anechoic test chamber. Testing is done according to different standards and with various different setups. Debugged failed devices. Prepared test reports upon completion of testing. Set up routers in a lab setting for EMC testing.

●Performed bench testing for Qualcomm’s Atheros chipset. Testing is done for chips and boards. Chips are used for routers & cellular wireless mobile devices.

●Performed chipset evaluation based upon engineering specifications. Worked closely with the engineering staff to perform tests on chipset and provide analysis of test results. Setup bench testing of chipsets and test equipment used in manufacturing and software design. Run production testing.

●Conducted RF receiver testing by (Mobile terminated- the test system pages the mobile device) answering an incoming call that the mobile device receives from the test system and being in a connected call state as measurements are taken.

●Conducted 2G/3G, 4G LTE RF testing with both Mobile originated & Mobile terminated (test system pages the mobile device and the call is placed off hook); The call is in a live connected state as measurements are taken. Test cases included AMR, Spurious Emissions, etc.

●Main task is to perform DPPM (Defective Parts per Million) testing on chips and boards. DPPM testing for chips is testing for Bluetooth & FM. Audio is part of FM testing. Used Qualcomm’s internal QSPR program for chip testing. QSPR program is used to run, execute testing then to evaluate the overall performance of chip testing. Testing is done using an Agilent DC Power supply E3640A, Bluetooth RF switch 10-Y7006, Rhode & Schwarz CBT- Bluetooth Tester, Rhode & Schwarz SMB 100A- Signal Generators (3 units) (range of 9 KHz….1.1 GHz), Audio Precision sys-2722 – 192k, & Audio Precision programmable Serial Interface Adapter PSIA-2722.

●DPPM testing for boards is done using Qualcomm’s Cherokee utility board along with an MTP debug board. Used Qualcomm’s internal QSPR program to perform testing. Testing is done using a LitePoint IQxel.

●Performed PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) testing on boards and chips. Testing is done under extreme conditions such as very low and very high temperatures. Low and high temperature settings vary depending on the test. Testing is also performed under different voltage and current settings. Voltage and current settings can start from normal then can go very high or very low depending on the test script and can also fluctuate back and forth during the execution of the test.

●Testing was done on the test benches using Rhode & Schwarz, Agilent, & Keysight test equipment/test simulators/network simulators such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Spirent was also used for testing on some test benches.
