I have been volunteering as a teacher aide in a UTK classroom at Rosa Park Elementary School. .They are children that range from ages 4-5. I help with activities outside and inside the classroom. Small projects that are needed to be done like back to school night or like spirit day activities . I interact, play, and help with the children’s needs during their day at school. I always make sure every student feels safe and comfortable in the classroom's environment.

Since I've been in the YMCA I've been around a lot of children, parents, and coworkers. As a youth leader I made sure Students find a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive socially, emotionally and physically. I worked in the afterschool and before school program. During the afterschool I would have a specific age of students throughout the day and do many activities like singing songs, reading, homework time, physical activity…etc. May not sound as much but let me tell you children are very interesting and a handful, but also worth being around engaging with them because you never know what positive impact you can have on a child’s life. Not only did I learn so much about working with children but being around different environments through National City/Chula Vista schools made me also learn about how important it is to get along and build relationships with people you work with.
