I have been an RN for 28 + years. I have worked 15 years in cardiac step down, hospital float to ob, er,med surg. admissions, telemetry, icu, for 8 years, home health, and long term care.

I started out as Nurse supervisor and wound care. I was pushed into the Intrium DON without training or preceptorship. Although cooperate sent a trainer out once a month. I am cdc cerfified for infection preventionist, My skills are supervisory, preceptor, scheduling, I am familiar with the LTC programing. I managed approximately 25 nurses and cnas.I was allowed to think after August that I would remain DON for at least one year because of the circumstances in which I entered. He states he was satisfied with my work but he wanted to see more progress. Well since I came into the position, Dec 28 th I started. Dec 30 we fired 6 cnas,There is now a full staff of good qualified cnas and LPNs. There is a complete turn around in customer and employee satisfaction. I am still working on monthly reports and meetings. I was told on to 30th that when I went on vacation I would return as a nurse supervisor on October 8th. I have given a weeks notice to the administrator per text that I would not return on the 8 th.I was not happy about the way things were done.
