Credentialing Assistant (November 2018 – Present)

• Providing initial contact and follow up with Section Chiefs, new applicants and recredentialing applicants for Piedmont Clinic membership consideration.

• Process all Clinic Applications in accordance with Clinic Bylaws, Credentialing Policy and Procedures, NCQA or equivalent standards, and state and federal law.

• Assuring credentialing and recredentialing documentation from the Piedmont Central Verification Office (CVO) is received in a timely manner to provide to the Clinic’s Credentials Committee monthly meetings.

• Reviewing the CVO documentation and verifying/expanding on the information provided, as needed.

• Creating the monthly Credentials Committee memorandum for review by the Clinic Credentials and Executive Committee.

• Review with the Medical Director the background information on each Clinic applicant prior to the monthly Clinic Credentials and Executive Committee.

• Work closely with the CVO to coordinate timely Primary Source Verification (PSV) activities.

• Accurately and timely enter data into Cactus for each Clinic member.

• Assuring timely delivery to Clinic members of their completed credentialing and recredentialing documentation (e.g. membership confirmation letter, Physician Agreement, etc.).

• Monitors and coordinates the physician reappointment process for Piedmont Clinic as well as preparation for approval of the physician initial process.

• Prefill Government/Corrections applications as well as VISTA/HCP applications with all available information before sending to providers.

• Process VISTA/HCP Applications in a timely manner after receipt from Providers.

• Gather all necessary supporting documents from providers, including medical malpractice explanations, work history gaps and procedural logs.

• Responsible for completing the Credentialing process for Initial and Re-Credentialing Government/Corrections providers every two years; including verification, references, and reports.

• Initiate and complete Background Fingerprint Investigation process for all Government VA providers.

• Obtain Primary Source verifications for previous work history and medical malpractice for all active provider, as well as Education /Training as necessary.
