Fuel Distribution System Worker, WG-6, WG-5413 Department of Army Civilian (DAC) Manager: Mr. Robert Lupton 907-***-****

Currently serving as the Fuel Distribution System Worker for Garrison, Fort Wainwright, Alaska to implement the policies and procedures in receiving fuel and providing fuel support to tenant units and visiting units. Perform tasks associated with fuel storage, receipt, and issue. Responsible for off-loading aviation fuels (avgas/JP4/JP8) from commercial tanker trucks to bulk storage tanks; spotting tanker at the receiving dock and grounding vehicles to include implementing safety procedures such as placing fire extinguishers. Responsible for removing seals from dump valves, connecting hoses from tanker to storage intake; opening valves on tanker trucks at designated storage tanks/in pump house and operating the master control for the fuel pump. Activate pumps and monitor the pumping operation to ensure no problems arise; shut down fuel pump if spillage or other difficulties occur. Ensure the quality of fuel through the collection of fuel samples and performing American Petroleum Institute (API) specific gravity test; measure fuel temperature; record and report results. Responsible for closing fuel pump system when delivery is complete to include closing the truck hatch and valves, disconnecting hoses, removing grounds, closing tank valves, and deactivating pump and power controls. Ensure that required procedures are implemented when distributing fuel from storage tanks to helicopters, fixed wing aircraft and HEMTTs. Inspect truck by collecting samples of remaining contents for testing to ensure its compatibility with the fuel delivered. Responsible for accountability, recording the amount of fuel received and distributed as well as inspecting for consistency with delivery order and distribution. Perform daily tasks such as gauging storage tanks in the morning as well as before and after issue or receipt. Ensure accuracy in recording and reporting measurement and temperature reading. Inspect storage facilities and equipment; perform routine prevention maintenance through visual checks for leaks in valves, gaskets, seals, pipes, etc. Utilize absorbents to contain and clean up minor oil spills. Responsible for collecting samples from storage tanks for laboratory quality checks while exercising caution to keep samples uncontaminated. Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) and Fuels Installation Recurring Maintenance and Minor Repair Program (RMMR) Contract. Effectively maximized the use of limited resources and time to obtain highest results in the Aviation Resource Management Survey Inspection; trained 12 NCO's and 33 Soldiers on over 200 hours of FORSCOM ARMS inspection mandatory training. Established a four-point Forward Arming Refueling Point during FARP X training, which led the company standard in any incoming missions. Developed a plan to standardize Department of Defense Fuel; resulted in 22 Fuel HEMTTs converting from JP4 to JP8. Accomplished the calibration meters of over 12 M978A4; saved the ARMY over $200,000 annual savings.
