I initiated with JM Steel as a temp with LK Jordan and for the first 6 months with mantainence setting up the solar lines side of the shop. Then became an employee with Jemnnar with full benefits and with 40 hour work weeks with biweekly pay. My duties with operating and inspecting tubes produced by tube mill and keeping all machinery clean and up to date. After 3 months was promoted to work in shipping and receiving department and was trained to operate both over head cranes 55 ton and 33 ton. The use of the cranes were to transport coils that came from railroad transport or 18 wheeler transport and relocated either inside of shop or outside. Coils can vary from 18,000 pounds to 90,000 pounds galvanized, hot roll, or pickle oiled hot rolls types. After checking in coils, a schedule is setup to find selected coils to be processed through the slitter machine turning the master coils into slit coils of various sizes. 4 months promoted to slitter pack line binding slit coils and using banding battery powered tools to keep coils from unraveling themselves for safety reasons. Been working at JM Steel for 18 months and present.
