Summary

I have been in cable for 28 years. I started out installing and progressed up to Director of Construction in those 27+ years. In that time, I have grown as a leader and as a person. I would like an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with people.

Experience

Director of Construction – Altice USA

2021-April 2023

Responsible for all manner of construction, Town Builds, New Build Residential, Business to Business, Carrier, Node Segmentations, and Infrastructure Modifications (Damages, Forced Relocates, Customer Requests, ect). Starting January 1st 2021 I ran the Texoma and WestPac Regions. This included two Managers and Ten Supervisors. A total of 85 employees were in this area. Over time the company hired more Directors and Managers. Since June of 2022 I only had to manage the West Texas Area. I had one manager and three supervisors with 28 employees when I retired.

Director Of Construction – Business to Business and Carrier Altice USA

2018-2020

Managed a team of 12 people, which included 2 managers, that was responsible for meeting timelines for Business to Business and Carrier customers. Did Quality control of the paperwork and physical construction. Made sure that all compliance documents were submitted to the carrier companies and Altices internal engineering team nationwide in the Suddenlink footprint of Altice USA.

Accomplishments

●Ran a team that built a 250-mile fiber build across West Virginia. From Ashland Kentucky to Newport, Virginia.

●Ran a team the built a 750-mile fiber built to 43 different schools surrounding the Abilene area.

Regional Construction Manager – Business to Business and Carrier Altice USA

2016-2018

Managed a team of five people that was responsible for meeting timelines for Business to Business and Carrier customers. Did Quality control of the paperwork and physical construction. Made sure that all compliance documents were submitted to the carrier companies and Altices internal engineering team in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Idaho.

Accomplishments

●Developed the program for which the group would follow. This department had never existed before.

National Construction Manager, Altice USA

Amarillo, Texas – 2016

Responsible for Pole agreements from West Virginia to California. Re-negotiated contracts with the twelve largest contractors Altice USA had in the Suddenlink footprint.

Regional Construction Manager, Suddenlink Communications

Amarillo, Texas — 2013-2016

Helped institute the use of Workfront through the West Region. Trained the West Region on Fiber-to-the-Home construction. Tracked project costs and mileage built for region.

Construction Supervisor, Suddenlink Communications

Amarillo, Texas — 2003-2013

As Construction Supervisor I have had to work within a budget that I helped set up. I ran anywhere from 15 - 45 projects at one time including labor and material orders. Did cost estimates for builds and set time frames for all builds. As the Warehouse Manager for Amarillo I have been responsible for all parts that have moved in and out of the Amarillo System. The warehouse is also responsible for maintaining budget levels through the year and Amarillo has done well in this aspect. For over two years I was the Supervisor for the Tulia System including the front counter for a year.

Accomplishments

●Designed and Built 250 miles of fiber Interconnect from Plainview to Amarillo to Clovis in 2007-08. Including securing new pole agreements with three power companies.

●In 2011 I built fiber to 24 Verizon Cell Towers.

●In 2009 I rebuilt the Tulia system with in-house technicians.

●Amarillo is one of the leaders in Fiber-To-The-Home in Suddenlink.

●Built fiber to 43 cell towers for Sprint and Flatwireless.

Maintenance Technician, Cox Communications

Amarillo, Texas — 1996-2003

Responsibilities of being a maintenance tech ranged from customer education calls all the way up to maintaining fiber nodes. Ran CLI, proofs, worked on stand-by power supplies, set-up forward and return levels on amplifiers, replaced spans of cable, pulled on-call.

Accomplishments

●I was asked to fill in when the construction supervisor was let go over the other 9 maintenance techs.

●I was chosen as the Maintenance Tech that would do the Quality Control over the contractors during 860mHz rebuild in 2001-02.

●I was Safety Coordinator from 2002-2003. Amarillo went from the worst record in Cox West Texas to tied for the best while I was coordinator.

●Helped launch the second broadband internet cable system in Texas.

Amarillo, Texas — 1995-1996

Installed cable TV in homes and businesses.

Accomplishments

●I promoted to Maintenance in eight months

West Texas A&M

B.A. — 1992-1999

I started my higher education at Sul Ross State University in 1990 and transferred to West Texas A&M in 1992. I worked a full-time job from 1993 until I graduated in 1999 to be able to pay for school. Even though my degree is in General Studies all my Junior and Senior level classes were in Management and Marketing.

●I can work in Microsoft Word, Excel, OSPInsite, Workfront and DWG TrueView.
