In August of 2019 I was asked if I would move from my Tech lead position to help out the Netbackup team in getting control of 1400 failing backups and I accepted. Since this time we have brought that number down to 186 failed backups and have worked on getting automation built to assist in resolving simple failures. The backup success rate has gone from 76.3% to 98.7%.

I have recently begun training in cloud computing and automation in order to move over to the cloud computing automation team to help out with the increasing workload.

Served as a Tech lead over the storage provisioning section and oversaw all storage allocations and storage array/fiber switch hardware issues.

Our team manages over 64pb of storage across 101 storage arrays and 265 fiber switches on both classified and non-classified networks.

Before being the Tech lead over storage provisioning, I was the Tech lead over the storage performance team. We handled all performance related issues and storage array/fiber switch upgrades across 101 storage arrays and 265 fiber switches on both classified and non-classified networks.

My first Tech lead position was over the Defense Enterprise email storage team that managed 36pb of storage across 75 storage arrays and 32 fiber switches on both classified and non-classified networks.

Member of the DoD Enterprise Email project with 1.4 Million users.

I was a member of the team who was responsible for providing technical guidance for storage and backup assessments, systems/storage design, performance analysis, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning for the Enterprise Email project.

I was part of a team that used Hitachi Command Suite to allocate and manage the 24 PB of data on 36 Hitachi VSP’s, 29 Hitachi AMS2500’s and 6 Hitachi HUS150’s in 18 different local and remote locations across the world. The storage is projected to reach 34PB upon completion of the project.

In addition to managing the storage using Hitachi Command Suite, I created the aliases and zones for all 1100 Enterprise Email servers I have allocated storage to and currently manage 212 Brocade DCX and Brocade DCX4S Fiber switches.

I was responsible for the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) policy on all storage devices to include Hitachi Storage Arrays, Hitachi Management servers and Brocade Fiber Switches.

Assist the VION Field Engineer in resolving multiple failed drives through the SVP.

I have used Hitachi Tuning Manager to troubleshoot and resolve storage I/O issues.

Using Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager, I have migrated 56 PB of data.

Assisted in the design and planning for the additional Production and Disaster Recovery sites to support DoD Enterprise Email. This utilizes CommVault storage management tools to include CommServ Administration, CommNet, CommVault Storage Manager and various iDataAgents, Data De-Duplication, Exchange Archiving, Content Indexing and Searching or the Enterprise VERITAS management suit to include multiple host vault policies, setting up multiple NetBackup agency and bare metal restores.

Before being selected to the DoD Enterprise Email project I managed storage on Hitachi AMS1000, USP, and USP-V platforms and managed Brocade 12000, 24000, and 48000 fiber switches. With all backups being performed using Veritas Netbackup in a Windows, UNIX and VMware environment using the Enterprise Veritas management suite to troubleshoot issues.

I also assisted with storage issues on NetApp Filers (FAS2040, FAS2050) and EMC ClaRiion & CX-700

I have worked in the backup environment using TSM, Veritas NetBackup and CommVault backup software’s.
