The last several years I have been babysitting grandkids, doing yard work and gardening. I miss helping people and the positive feeling that it gives me. My job at CIRSI I totally loved, but due to physical restrictions I needed to give it up, so they could put someone in the position that could do the physical help that the program needed. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. At CIRSI we worked with Adults with both physical and mental disabilities. I truly felt that I was making a difference in peoples day wither it be clients or co-workers. That is why I am not looking for a part-time position where I can make a difference, to co-workers or clients, maybe both.

NexRep did not work out for me as you had to fight for hours and they did not pay what they said they were going to.

So my goal is to find a part-time position where I can make a difference, even if it is in the smallest way.

Work Experience

NexRep Agent

NexRep (Teladoc) - Marshalltown, IA

September 2023 to Present

Taking inbound calls to schedule appointments and assisting clients with adding dependents, updating information etc.

This job did not work out for me as you had to fight for any hours you got, and they did not pay what they said they would. As unable to reach a Supervisor with questions. Although I did feel as if I was helping people, it just did not work for me. Supervisor of the Day Program

CIRSI - Marshalltown, IA

September 1999 to December 2017

As Supervisor, I dealt with clients guardians and staff issues. Was responsible for setting up the programs for the day. (morning and afternoon programs) Completed times sheets on the computer. Did all staff schedules. I was responsible for completing state required paperwork and conducted staff and state staffing meeting with clients state caseworkers. I very much enjoyed this job, dealing with different people and meeting new people was a real joy for me. Our clients all were all adults with disabilities. Due to the mental disabilities we dealt with many behaviors which I often stepped in and assisted with. Some of our clients would strike out and become physical and as the only full-time employee, besides the Administrator, I felt it was my duty to step in. (And sometime it would be the staff they were assigned to that day, was the issue.)

I would also do job coaching with staff, as sometimes they would forget that they were working with adults.

One time I had a staff, that ended up working for the company over 15 years say to me: " I learn so much by watching work with our clients and I can always come to you with questions. I so appreciate that and I feel it makes me a better staff." She was a great staff and I at numerous times that her know that.
