St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN
Managed along with my Japanese site manager day-to-day operations of a PBT (Proton Beam Therapy) installation project at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tn. 1st of this kind application specifically designed for pediatric care. My duties include being the Liaison between the building Contractor (Flintco), St. Jude staff, HAL (Hitachi America), HPTU (Hitachi Plant Technologies USA), along with the Installation contractor and their subcontractors. Responsible for tracking deliveries, staging deliveries, processing daily reports derived from the daily activities, monthly progress reports, weekly coordination meetings with departments, scheduling, material procurement and coordination with HPTU safety professionals and QAQC Departments to keep the project running safely and, in a quality, clean room maintained environment. Worked closely with electrical on proper termination and torquing applications and documentation along with mechanical on stainless steel pipe welding, connections and their documentation. Conducted pre-installation meetings with all contractors including but not limited to critical lifts during machinery installations with our rigging contractor. Worked with Survice & ECM on precise measurement calculations for the critical sets including adjustments for movement of this state-of-the-art equipment to 1/40th mm tolerance. Critical machinery installed, Linac for proton extraction, Synchrotron Accelerator for the protons to achieve 2/3 speed of light and the Linear beam corridor for the transfer of protons into the gantries for patients.

Managed and supervised site-wide architectural disciplines for insulated siding & roofing, doors/hardware, painting and insulation. Supervised field engineers, labor disciplined superintendents and foreman for their aforementioned disciplines. Responsibilities included scheduling with my field engineers collecting data from superintendents for our daily and work in place reports along with daily meetings with upper management on progress for the described disciplines. Coordinate efforts with Volkswagen Management architects and engineers, in cooperation with SSOE architects and engineers, to attain desired results. Managed work areas included a 500,000 sq. ft. supplier park facility used for staging of parts for the Volkswagen plant a 5,000sq.ft. A recycle center and 150,000sq.ft. Mechanical plant (Media Center) which housed all air compressors, boilers, fire pumps, switch gear along with misc. equipment and systems to maintain the operation of the facility, worked closely with mechanical & electrical contractors to maintain proper documentation & OMs for owner turnover.
