2017-2018 Research Assistant for the UIUC Electrophysiology and Language Processing Lab

Overseen by Darren Tanner

Prepared participants for data collection using an EEG cap, and made sure readings were clean. Fixed any issues that may have come up, including drift in the channels and replacing dead electrodes with drops. Responsible for saving and backing up any collected data. Attended weekly lab meetings, which included article discussions.

2020 Research Assistant for Graduate Student’s Dissertation Project

Overseen by Ander Beristain

Prepared participants for data collection using Biopac MP 100 Aerodynamic system. Calibrated the above system. Segmented the collected data in Praat. Attended weekly lab meetings, which included article discussions.

2018-2019 Teach and Learn in Korea Program Scholar

Taught and prepared English lessons for kids from grades 3 to 6 at Geomun Elementary School in Gangwon-do, South Korea. Lived in the rural town of Jinbu-myon, located near Pyeongchang.

2020 - 2022 Cashier Assistant at Costco

Helped unload and load merchandise into carts. Ensured that all merchandise was scanned. Additionally, worked the cash register, pushed carts, helped members load their cars, and did other odd jobs as the situation required.

2021 - 2022 Special Projects Assistant at Champaign-Urbana Public Health District

Helped to interview people on the phone who identified as positive on COVID-19 tests. The data collected went on to help identify outbreaks in Champaign County. Additionally, answered questions and addressed concerns of those called.

2022 - Present Medical Administrative Assistant at Neurology Consultants

Set up appointments with patients both over phone and in the office using eClinicalWorkd. Scanned, completed, and filed paperwork and cleaned up testing room after EMGs were conducted. Occasionally checked people in. Additionally, answered questions and addressed concerns of any who called in.

2017-2018 Vice President of League of Linguists- alternated attending linguistics faculty meetings with the president of the club, led general meetings when president could not attend. Created and led the “Conlang Corner,” a group of students interested in artificial constructed languages that met outside of regular meetings

2019-2020 Led LoL’s “Conlang Corner”- led the group in constructing an artificial language collaboratively. It boasts a phonology, more than 100 words, a basic syntax, a writing system, as well as greetings and introductions.

2020 Volunteer at UC Books to Prisoners- Searched the collection of books to fulfill specific book requests of prisoners from around Illinois.
