Position Held: Chief Engineer (Retd.) Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd.

Vadodara-Gujarat State-India.

Project Head for setting up new Power Projects and Sub Station in Gujarat State, India Reporting to Company Managing Director and Chairman.

Experience +37 years in following areas.

I have worked for the following projects in Gujrat State Electricity Ltd. Vadodara Gujarat State, India.

1. I joined GSECL (previously known as G.E.B) in November 1970 as Jr. Engineer and worked in power Distribution up to September 1972. Got Experience in 66/11/440volt substation and power distribution.

2. I was promoted as Deputy Engineer and placed in Dhuvaran Thermal Power Station (540MW) in October 1972. I worked in Electrical control room as Operational engineer till December 1973, I was fully experienced in control room experience of power project,

3 .I was transferred as Planning & Project engineer in company head office in Vadodara.

I was associated in assessing future annual power demand of Gujarat State. I became fully experienced in planning activities of commercial operation of power projects.

4. I was deputed in Engineers India Ltd, company of Government of India on Indian Petros Chemicals project Vadodara in 1975 ( now Reliance Ltd.) There I worked as testing &Commissioning engineer of electrical equipment in all the down stream projects. I was specialized in testing and commissioning in electrical MV/LV panels, protective relays, instrumentation of Propylene/LDE/Acrylic fiber / ACN projects of petrochemicals.

5. I was transferred to our company head office (G.E.B) after projects commissioning of IPCL in beginning of 1977. I worked in electrical and instrumentation engineering of following Coal based thermal power projects under execution at that time.

a. Wanakbori 3 units of 210 MWeach.

b. Gandhinagar 2 units of 120 MW each

c. Ukai T.P.S 2 units of 120 MW & 3 units each of 210 MW.

d. Utran Gas based Thermal Power Station.

I was entrusted electrical commissioning of above projects and its associated 220 KV switchyards.

I worked in above projects electrical and instrumentation engineering. I worked as first time commissioning engineer.

6. I was promoted on the post of Executive Engineer in 1995 in the company headquarter in Project department. I continued to be associated in engineering of following power projects

a. Kutchh Lignite based 2 units each of 110 MW.

b. Sikka one unit of 210 MW.

c. Expansion of Wanakbori and Ukai and Gandhinagar coal based Thermal projects each of 210MW and 3 units in each power station.

I fully contributed in system design electrical and instrumentation of above projects. Moreover I worked as tenders evaluation.

7. I was sent on deputation to Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, a company of Gujarat State, engaged in mining of Lignite in 1998. My work was to establish 2 units each of 210 MW Lignite based projects on site of Akrimot in Kutchh district of Gujarat State. I got two more promotions as Superintending and Additional Chief Engineer during my stay in GMDC Ltd. I completed these projects and put into operation.

I joined my parent company again on promotion as Chief engineer (Planning & Projects) in Vadodara company in October2004.

I was a head in project department main responsible to decide about new projects to be taken up, and its execution till operational star-up till end of 2005.

I was given responsibility to head Dhuvaran Thermal Power Station . During this period 2 units each of 135 MW Gas based GE units were under execution. I was a head in successful commissioning of these projects. Other 2 units of 110 Mw each gas based units, 2 units of each 140 MW and 4 units eac h of 63.5 MW on coal/oil were in operation .I was a chief of administration, finance and engineering and head of all the employees working there.

I retired on superannuation in September2006.

Academic Qualification: Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.

School: LD. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, Gujarat University Gujarat State India.

University: Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat State, India.

Period: June’1966 – July’1970.
