• Involved in culturing and isolation of membrane vesicles from Streptococcus agalactiae using gradient ultra-centrifugation and further characterization using Electron microscopy
• Toxicity of the vesicle was tested ex vivo in mice placental tissue and in vitro to Ishikawa cell lines. The treated tissues were sectioned and observed with various staining techniques
• The work was done in collaboration with Prof. Aniriban Banerjee at Indian Institute Technology, Powai, Mumbai
This work resulted in publishing 2 publication in journals including Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. This work was funded by Kerala Science, Technology and Environment Council Graduate Student, Cochin University of 2012-2016

• Work mainly focused on isolating characterizing bacteria from deep sea sediments and screening for melanin production
• Bacterial characterization using 16S rDNA PCR amplification and following Sangers sequencing of the gene.
• Melanin produced was characterized using XRD, FT-IR, NMR, HPLC, Electron microscopy techniques
• Various activities of the pigments were examined using biochemical and in vitro assays in cell lines like L929, RAW etc.
• Formulation of cosmetic cream with high SPF potential using melanin isolated This work resulted 9 publications in journals including Applied Biological Chemistry.
