HP SIM Core Group Development – Embedded Management 09/09 –10/13

Tracked and modified the development of the HP management processors for usage by the HP SIM CMS over a number of HP SIM and iLO releases. Created and implemented HTTP/SOAP integration with HP Systems Insight Manager for a variety of software management component applications. Gathered technical requirements on a variety of management software partners and customer feedback to propose, document and schedule multiple concurrent software efforts. Prototyped, and championed a number of approaches which demonstrated the “Proof of Concepts” integrations. Created a number of partner software examples as well as development API documentation. Extended a number of core HP SIM interfaces, and followed through with delivery with HP SIM core, as well as with external 3rd party software products. Exposure to Altiris Notification and Deployment Server, Novadigm Radia Patch Manager, Patch Link, Pedestal Intact, and Harris STAT Scanner security products. Form a group of seasoned, experienced developers to recommend and resolve various longer term technical issues pertaining to enterprise computer systems management. Work with numerous buyouts and partners to enhance the Compaq Management portfolio. Extensive work with the Microsoft Operations Manager, and the integration of Compaq specific server management features. Worked with large partitioned systems, making them fit into the Compaq Management Architecture. Infiniband and iSCSI areas of Managability also worked on with various divisions within Compaq. Tracking the iSCSI standards development, chairman of technical group focused on resource monitoring and control of loosely coupled system and storage solutions.

Insight Manager XE 07/98 – 05/00

Managing a group of software developers in a distributed development project for WEB based management of Compaq’s entire corporate portfolio of computer products. Tasks include negotiating with Product Management and other development groups, for a piece of the development funding to create the SNMP and DMI portions of the project. Group grew to a size of over 10 engineers. Budgets, performance reviews, job plans, function specifications, source code management, as well contributing technically to the forward looking direction in the discovery and identification of network based computer systems and appliances. Development was on the Windows NT platform, Interaction with various operating systems groups, as well new processor groups, from Intel and Alpha architectures. Customer presentations, magazine reviews, and technical symposium presentations were also done to introduce the project to the customer base. Numerous training sessions to field engineers and internal groups were also given.
