Profile:

John is a lab chemist with 18 years experience developing and improving veterinary vaccines and another 5 developing and purifying monoclonal antibody systems for use in the lab and clinic.

Once developed and scaled, John has experience manufacturing small to large-scale viral and bacterial vaccines in a clean room environment from inoculation and harvest to the filling and capping process.

He has more than 15 years experience creating relational database systems having a User Interface that assists the user in entering data that is validated on entry. He is quite familiar with the MS Office applications including MS Word and Excel, creating forms, templates and graphics to visualize/illustrate data, and functions/VBA to assist the user in data entry, reporting, and analysis. The captured data can be immediately transferred into MS Access and/or SQL Server databases with additional opportunity for analysis, graphics and reporting.

John is familiar with the production environment of an ISO13485 and cGMP environment from both a scientist and IT perspective.

Process Development Scientist

Responsibilities:

ReadIt Calculator - Built database front end to proprietary ReadIt system of SNP identification. Used by doctors to provide diagnostic assistance in gene-related diseases such as Factor Five blood disorder.

Investigation Database - Built database in which to record the details of laboratory investigations performed in response to a manufacturing nonconformance. This application was implemented as a Client-Server application containing a common network data source and a front end which was installed on the user’s PC

Horses

I own three American Quarterhorses and use MS Access, VB and SQL Server to manage my veterinary and genetics information.

I own MS Server 2003 and continue to use it to manage my small at-home network of a Dell PowerEdge server, 2 towers and 3 laptop PCs. It has provided an opportunity to utilize a basic version of Active Directory and take my network to conferences such as NWRA and Midwest Horse Fair.
