Professional Summary: Act as Advanced Processing Build (APB) baseline IPT Lead for BYG-1 subsystem under Navy IWS5 program. Serve as direct line of communication between program office and General Dynamics (GD). Develop and integrate Research and Development (R&D) solutions into over-arching SWFTS system aligned to the BYG-1 production sub-system using the SAFe Agile development framework.

Re-Architecture: Co-lead modernization effort to move toward a PaaS-based Kubernetes infrastructure from VM’s using the strangler pattern to move forward into a re-architecture effort to migrate from a monolithic codebase to a microservice-based MVC architecture using web technologies such as HTML5, JSON, REACT and Node.js.

Modernization: Spearhead modernization efforts for development process improvements including:

oTeam transition to an Agile development environment with respect to both process and tooling using Atlassian’s product suite (Jira, Bitbucket and Bamboo).

oTeam transition to a product-line-engineering (PLE) architecture to manage commonality as well as planned variation, leveraging the BigLever Gears application and implementing a more continuous integration.

oOversaw team transition to implementing a more DevOps pipeline approach to development life cycle using tools such as Bamboo for automated builds and Parasoft for static code analysis.

oDeveloped R&D web and devops prototypes using AWS cloud services (EC2, S3).

TRI Modernization: Used Agile development methodology and tools from Atlassian Suite for technology refresh of TRI-MEweb application software; moved from a server-side oriented web application to an updated client-side oriented web application. Used the latest web application frameworks to introduce an improved user experience along with improved performance and easier maintainability. The legacy application was also re-designed, and processes were streamlined through client JAD sessions.

Oversaw 15 technical and analyst personnel for EPA TRI-related applications (EPAs’ reporting system for chemical data collection under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act).

Later technology refresh continued with migration to Hudson for continuous integration, Mercurial for source control, Maven for the build tool, Nexus for a binary repository and Sonar for code quality and metrics.

Cloud Computing: Served as Technical lead for setup and research of cloud environment to capture and store disparate Navy data and use cloud computing to identify commonalities so a Navy operator could gain tactical awareness. Technologies used: Accumulo, Hadoop, Zookeeper.
