Range Safety Officer (RSO) • U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA)
A Range Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for ensuring that all safety rules and regulations are followed on a shooting range, whether it's for firearms, archery, or other projectile-based activities.
Primary duties include:
Safety Oversight: I ensure that everyone on the range is following safety protocols. I monitor shooters to ensure they handle firearms or bows safely and intervene if I observe any unsafe behavior.

Briefings: I conduct safety briefings to participants. This includes explaining commands, safety rules, and emergency procedures.
Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency, I am trained to immediately respond. This might involve administering first aid, coordinating an evacuation among other range specific emergencies.
