Software Engineer: Applied software engineering processes that lead to the development of interface applications, which enabled existing practice management\electronic health records (EHR) software systems to electronically transmit prescriptions to pharmacies across the US. This included implementing software to support various messaging protocols defined by standards organizations such as the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP).

Applied software engineering processes that lead to the development of web based applications allowing end users to electronically prescribe medications, retrieve drug benefit coverage information, and perform several other patient related functions in real time.

Special Tasks:

Implemented software support for the ANSI X12-Health Care Eligibility Benefit Inquiry (270) and X12-Health Care Eligibility benefit Information (271) transaction sets, which provide the electronic delivery of prescription drug benefit information to physician systems in an ambulatory setting.

Assisted in the certification process with NDC Health® and Sure Scripts™ pharmacy store aggregators, which verified the operation of our production software against industry specifications and enabled the company electronic access to pharmacies nationwide.

Worked with over 175 independent EHR software companies to facilitate the integration of NewCropRx electronic prescribing services via an XML &\or Web Services interface, including presiding over a testing & certification process prior to production usage.

Participated in various Production Database Tuning & Query Optimization as company grew.

Implemented software support for the Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS).

Assisted in successful third-party compliance audits & certifications for EPCS, HITRUST, & SAS 70 (now SSAE 16)
