Team member assigned to prepare patients for day/ambulatory surgery and for post anesthesia/post operation. Prepare patients by conducting health histories, vital signs, medical clearance, ekg’s, lab draws, IV starts, premedications, and prepping surgical sites. In PACU/Recovery, receive patients and reports from OR staff and Anesthesia, maintain airways, (LMA/ET) monitor VS, pain levels & medicate as necessary, and perform discharge/ teaching instructions to patients and their families prior to discharging home safely.
