While attending Philander Smith College I was invited to further my interest in chemistry and biochemical engineering by completing an internship at UoFA. I was a part of a four week program-workshop focusing on biochemistry, physical chemistry, and biophysical chemistry. I learned that enthalpy is a chemical energy that is contained in bonds (or other attractive forces such as electrostatics or magnetism.) the more negative enthalpy means that there will be more negative energy in the bonds or how much more attractive the forces are. Entropy describes the degree of disorder or randomness. We studied images of nanoparticles using a transmission electron microscope.
