Professional Experience:

2022-2023 Davis Wire

As the Quality manager I oversaw all the processes in the plant, including the cleaning house, wire drawing, galvanizing and final inspection. I was responsible for training the lab techs and leadmen on quality control processes and reporting. My specific responsibilities are as follows:

●Focal point for clients request and inquiries.

●Compile statistical data on rejects, customer returns and finish product

●Coordinate daily SQC’s for the lab.

● Coordinate continual improvement and implementation of the Quality System Manual (QSM), Laboratory Quality System Manual (LQSM).

West Coast Quality Manager

As the Quality Assurance Manager I am responsible for preparing documentation related to laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and ISO certification activities. I am also responsible for implementing quality control procedures, as well as preparing and safeguarding related records. I assist the Laboratory Manager in training personnel, quality control, round robins, and client or regulatory reporting in compliance with AmSpec’s quality system. My specific responsibilities are as follows :

• Serving as a focal point for QA/QC and will be responsible for the oversight and review of quality control data on a routine basis.

Laboratory Manager

The Laboratory Manager has overall responsibility for everyday operations of the laboratory. S/he will keep the Laboratory Director or Branch Manager informed of all laboratory needs. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for arranging instrumental calibrations, sample and analytical assignments, maintaining original data for calibrations and quality control, reviewing final reports, and physical maintenance of the laboratory. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for arranging the outside support services and record keeping as well. This also includes, but is not limited to instrument service contracts and subcontracting sample analysis.

Responsible for running day to day test on petroleum products. In charge of calibrations of instruments and glassware. Assist in training new employees to ASTM Standards and maintaining training in current employees. Maintaining quality control charts and quality control samples. Responsible for maintenance of ocatane and cetane engines in the laboratory . Also responsible for upkeep and maninteance of several instruments in the main laboratory including GC’s, distillation units, and other instruments.

2013 – 2014 Valero Energy Corporation, Wilmington, CA

Engine Specialist

Promoted to an Engine Specialist. Primary responsibility is maintaining the octane engine laboratory. Tasks include running and maintenance of the octane engines, ordering parts and consumables for the octane laboratory, training new hires to run the octane engines according to ASTM standards and upkeep of the procedures in the octane laboratory. In charge of hydrofluoric acid testing for strength, moisture content and sulfolane purity. Responsible for working on projects with Chemical Engineers to ensure the health of the refinery units especially the Alkylation Unit. Provided reports for PCRG round robin samples and other regulatory agencies.

Promoted from Lab Technician B maintained responsibilities of Lab Tech B but now testing products for specialized areas of the lab such as, Gas Chromatography lab, WasteWater lab and Octane Engine lab. Responsible for lab training procedures, updating and training of new hires to lab standards.

2005 – 2006 Lab Technician B

Promoted from Lab Technician C duties, as Lab Technician B I assisted Specialist Technicians in making solutions for quality control of instrumentation and working solutions for everyday use. Provided trouble shooting to instruments that were not working properly.

2004 – 2005 Lab Technician C

Provided quality assurance/quality control in refinery products, such as diesel, gasoline and jet fuel. Testing included evaluating samples of finished products to meet specific requirements by government agencies such as CARB and the EPA, as well as industry standards. Testing was done by a variety of methods including distillation, corrosion testing, vapor pressure and FTNIR analysis. Testing was also done for contaminants, strength and toxic qualities in various refinery products. A Senior Lab Technician or a Chief Technician supervised these test methods.
